Municipal Wastewater Pretreatment: Reducing Pump Blockages Through Better Screening

In municipal wastewater treatment, pump blockages remain one of the most common causes of maintenance work and operational interruptions.

Many facilities receive wastewater containing stones, branches, leaves, plastics, and other coarse solids. If these materials are not removed effectively during pretreatment, they can enter pumping stations and downstream treatment units, creating recurring maintenance problems.
