A cooling tower is a heat exchange device that transfers process waste heat to the atmosphere through the process of water evaporation, helping to regulate the temperatures of various systems. It is commonly used in power plants, chemical plants, petrochemical plants, and food processing plants.
A critical component of cooling towers is the self-cleaning screen filter, which prevents the buildup of dust, debris, and other contaminants in the system.
How does the self-cleaning screen filter work in the cooling tower system?
1. Water recycling in cooling tower cooling water reuse with a self-cleaning screen filter filtration process:
The water to be filtered passes through the coarse filter from the outside to the inside via the water inlet pipe. The coarse filter is used to protect the cleaning mechanism from large particles, and then the water flows from the inside to the outside through the fine filter. When the water passes through the fine filter from the inside to the outside, the impurities are intercepted and accumulate on the inner surface of the filter screen, forming a "filter cake" which will cause a certain head loss.
2. Self-cleaning process:
When the pressure difference between the inside and outside of the fine filter reaches the preset value, the self-cleaning screen filter will start an automatic cleaning process, controlled by the hydraulic controller, and open the internal drain valve.
This will generate a sewage flow to drive the suction scanner to perform a spiral movement, and simultaneously, the sewage flow will suck away the impurities on the filter screen through the suction nozzle, and discharge them through the turbine mechanism and the sewage pipe.
Overall, a self-cleaning screen filter is a great way to ensure that your cooling tower is running at peak efficiency.
