Which types of screens are used in wastewater treatment?

Wastewater treatment screens generally fall into three categories—coarse, fine, and micro. Some modern wastewater treatment plants use both coarse screens and fine screens.

Which types of screens are used in wastewater treatment?

1. Coarse Screens for Wastewater Treatment

Coarse screens consist of parallel rods, rods or wires, wire mesh, or perforated plates, with openings usually round or rectangular. Opening size from 6 to 150 mm (0.25 t0 6 in). Two types:

Fixed Bar Screen

Band Bar Screen

2. Fine Screens for Wastewater Treatment

Fine screens generally adopt a sieve with a clearance of less than 6 mm. Fine screen types:

Wedge wire cylinders/Drum Screen

Static sieve bend screens

3. Micro Filter for Wastewater Treatment

If the filtering requirements are relatively high, you need to use wastewater filter housing. Self-cleaning filters, bag filters, and cartridge filters are available.
