Why is filtration important in aquaculture?

"Aquaculture, also known as aquafarming, is the controlled cultivation ("farming") of aquatic organisms such as fish, crustaceans, mollusks, algae, and other organisms of value such as aquatic plants (e.g. lotus)."

The filtration system is important for the aquaculture industry. Why?

In the aquaculture system, the quality of water is one of the point factors. The filtration process is so important in order to meet specified water quality requirements. Suspended solids, dissolved solids, and organic matter were removed from water by filtration of water through suitable media.

What aquaculture filtration systems are there?

There are three types of filtration systems:

1. Mechanical filtration

In aquaculture, mechanical filtration is used primarily for the separation of solids and liquids. YUBO can provide various wedge wire filter equipment and stainless steel filter elements for fish farm industries. Like: DSM sieve bend, Drum filters, and other filters.

2. Gravitational filtration

Gravitational filtration utilizes the force of gravity to separate particles from the fluid. The density difference between the suspended particles and water is used in this type of filtration.

3. Biological filtration

For recirculating water in aquaculture, bio treatment can be carried out. The concentration of ammonia in culture water is reduced by the biological filtration process.

Water Pump Intake Screen/wedge wire intake screen

Water Pump Intake Screen ( Wedge Wire Intake Screen/Passive Intake Screen ) - Effectively Removes Debris to Prevent Pump Damage In this article, YUBO has compiled some guidelines about the water pump intake screens, please click to view. What is a Water Pump Intake Screen?                                                                              A water pump intake screen is a device that is installed at the intake of a water pump to prevent debris, such as leaves, sticks, and other large particles, from entering the pump and causing damage. The screen is typically made of a fine mesh material that allows water to flow through while blocking larger objects. It is important to regularly clean and maintain the intake screen to ensure proper water flow and prevent clogging. Why do we use a water...
