What is an automatic self-cleaning water filter?

The automatic self-cleaning filter is a type of water filter which utilizes system pressure to clean itself. Also known as a multifunctional application industrial filter usually used in liquid filtering.

Unlike many systems, the automatic water filter features self-cleaning, which saves energy, maintenance, and equipment replacement costs.

The system requires only semi-annual or annual inspections, depending on the particle load of course. Unlike other types of filters that require frequent downtime inspections.

The filtration process is following:

1. Raw water enters through the inlet of the filter and first passes through a coarse screen which captures large debris and sediment.

2. The water then continues to flow through the filter and through an internal fine screen which captures the remaining smaller particles. A Differential Pressure Switch (DPS) monitors pressure caused by debris buildup on the inner screen deck. When it senses a specific pressure difference, it initiates a self-cleaning process.

3. The internal cleaning mechanism removes the accumulation on the screen and then discharges it.
